The Grand Comic-Book Database Project: This is an ambitious project: An all-volunteer attempt to assemble a database indexing story, creator, and other information about every comic ever published.
The Net Book of Plots: Plot ideas for RPGs, sorted by length (from one-liners to things longer than a page), genre (fantasy is by far the best represented, but there's also a substantial "any" section), type (affliction, exploration, magic, quests, and a section for plots that can start off a campaign), and setting.

All the Web: Currently, my favorite search engine.
Yahoo!: Has anyone reading this not heard of Yahoo!? I suppose it's possible. Well, you've heard of it now. It's only mediocre on searches, but it works pretty well as what it's intended to be -- a subject-based index.
Open Directory Project: A Yahoo-like directory. Better in some areas.

General Reference

Internet Movie Database: A searchable database of information on movies. Titles, directors, cast, writers, etc. If you're in the United States, use the US server.
Gospel Communication Network's Bible Gateway: Search the Bible for keywords or phrases, or browse by chapter and/or verse. Multiple translations.

Macintosh Sites

MacInTouch: This page is updated daily with the latest news about new products, software upgrades, and bug reports for Mac software and hardware.
Scripting News: Lots of news about Frontier, Macs, the Web, Java, and (especially recently) XML. Well, a bit less about Macs now that Dave Winer's ported Frontier over to WinTel. I check it every day.
